Mexican restaurant – Taco and Rice
Written by Noh So Jung
Opening time : 11am-9pm
Phone number : 02-3291-5050
Price : 5500 won~8500 won

If you start at EWHA’s main entrance, this restaurant is located at the next alley right after Baskin Robins. When you go in that alley a little bit, you can see a small restaurant which has a yellow signboard: ‘Taco and Rice’. Because it is a small restaurant that only seats about 20 people, if you go here at peak mealtime, sometimes there are no more seats left. But because there are seats for people who come alone, it’s good when you have to eat a meal alone.
When you go in the restaurant, and see the menu, you can see many things like Buritto, Tacos, Quesadilla, and so on. The most popular choice is Tacos which has meat, rice and many kinds of vegetables in it, and is popular to most people. But, on the day I went there, I ate the special Buritto called ‘Bowl’. It was like salad with rice. As I ate many dishes in this restaurant, all of them have characteristic Mexican food aromas, and are very delicious.
And there is one tip. When you have your meal, before eating your delicious Mexican food, I recommend that you to bring tomato and jalapeno salsa sauce from one corner of restaurant. It is more delicious if you eat these sauces with other food. Because the restaurant offers unlimited refills of the sauce, you can eat them whenever you want. But don’t forget to eat all of them! Please enjoy your delicious Mexican mealtime!

Japanese restaurant – Papa’s Dining
Written by Lee Won Jung

Opening time : 11am-8pm (Monday to Saturday), 11am-3pm(Sunday)
break time : 3pm-5pm
Phone number : 02-364-0604
Price : 8000 won-10000 won
This restaurant is located in a back street, so, unlike other restaurants near EWHA, its atmosphere is so quiet and not crowded. It is a Japanese home-style restaurant, so all meals are clean, neat and ready for single individual servings. It is a good place for one person to eat at. But there are also tables for four, so many people can go there together. And all their staff are kind and make customers comfortable. But, you may have to wait because the restaurant has only about 9 tables for 25 people. We recommend this for anyone looking for affordable home-style Japanese food! Please check this out during you next break time!!

Indian restaurant – AANGAN
Written by Hyeon hwa
Opening time : 11 am~ 10 pm
Phone number : 02-364-8771
Price: range from about 9000 won to 20,000 won
This restaurant provides Indian and Nepalese traditional foods. The native Indian chef who has 15 years of cooking experience provides authentic Indian cooking for you. You can enjoy various types of dishes sold separately or in set courses. These include barbecue, kebab, curries, rice, biryani (fried rice), and chowmein (noodle). There are also various beverages. I visited here alone and ordered Prawn Biryani and Mango Lassi. Prawn Biryani is rice cooked with prawn cubes and spices and Mango Lassi is homemade yogurt mixed with ice, sugar and mango. The tastes were delicious and appetizing. It totally costs 15,000 won. Most customers are students, but many foreigners visit here and celebrate special days. It’s also a great place for a group of people or people who visit alone. The interior design and music makes you feel the cozy and exotic mood as if you were in India or Nepal.

Chinese restaurant - Taehwaru
Written by JI SIQI
Opening time: 10:00 a.m. ~10:00 p.m.
Phone number :02- 325-2082
Price: 5000 won~60000 won(for a group)

Taehwaru is a traditional Chinese restaurant near EWHA. As a real Chinese, I really suggest that you enjoy your dinner here. You will feel like you are really in China. It is really set up in true Chinese style.
The menu at Taehwaru is so long that I cannot show the whole menu here. Therefore, I will introduce some popular dishes here. Their dishes are divided to cold dishes which are appetizers and hot dishes which are for real meals. And there are seafood, chicken, vegetable, meat, soup, noodles, rice, dumplings and special menu here. There are also different kinds of beverages and alcohol including Chinese alcohol. I believe that you would have many choices here. It is a good thing and bad thing at the same time because it would be a difficult choice for you. There are so many delicious dishes such as eggplants with hot sauce, pork with honey and garlic sauce, Dan Dan mien and sweet and sour pork. They are also famous in China. I ordered sweet and sour pork that time. Actually, the tastes of dishes in Taehwaru are more close to Korean Chinese food than real Chinese food like other Chinese restaurants in Korea.

So why do I suggest Taehwaru? The reason is atmosphere. As my description before, you would feel that you are really in China. It’s amazing, isn’t?
As for price, you might feel it is expensive. But don’t worry! 60000 won is the price of a dinner set for 4~5 persons. And the sizes of the dishes are so big that one person cannot afford them. Therefore, if you take your friends to Taehwaru and enjoy lunch or dinner here, you would experience a brilliant meal. Not only would you taste delicious dishes, but also spend a happy time with your friends.

Which restaurant do you prefer? If you choose one, go and enjoy your short abroad trip with your friends during lunch or dinner time!
